Gloria Kloter, AIA, NCARB, CODIA, is an award-winning architect, founder and CEO of Glow Architects, a keynote speaker, bestselling author, voice actor, artist and poet. Gloria has been a practicing architect both in her home country (Dominican Republic) and in the United States since 2004. She is an advocate for immigrant architects, women in architecture, and motherhood.
In her book, “The Architecture of Motherhood: Your Blueprint to Glow as a Business Woman and Mom”, she shares her incredible journey to becoming a worldwide renowned architect and business owner while being a new mom. Through this book, the reader can learn how women in any industry can find a balance between their professional life and motherhood without having to compromise either role. Gloria is also a co-author of the bestselling book “City Shapers: Stories of Immigrant Designers” Vol. I and II, a compilation of the journey of successful professionals from all over the world who are making a positive impact and paving the way in the USA as architects and leaders in our industry, “Prospering in the US: A Handbook For Immigrant Architects”, a comprehensive guide for foreign architects pursuing success in the US, and Latinas in Architecture: Vol. III in collaboration with Arquitina.
Kloter has dedicated a huge chunk of her career to helping other young architects grow. As a leader in the architecture community, she is the founder of the Foreign Architects, a private online community where she mentors young and aspiring immigrant architects on how to obtain their architect license in the United States.
As a testament to her influence and impact, Gloria Kloter currently serves as the Director of Programs, and Podcast Co-host for the Immigrant Architects Coalition, and has been elected as a 2025-2027 At-Large Representative to the Strategic Council for AIA National, and she’s also Architect Licensing Advisor of the State of Florida and is part of the Women in Architecture (WIA) of AIA Florida. She has been a part of the Board of Directors of the AIA Tampa Bay where she served as the founder and chairperson of the Women in Architecture and the Young Architect Forum committee.
Among her awards and recognitions, Gloria is the recipient of the 2025 Young Architect Award by AIA National, the Outstanding Leadership Award 2022 by Realty 2.0, and the AIA Tampa Bay 2020 Kelley Emerging Professional Award. She was also honored with the 2019 Sho-Ping Ching Women’s Leadership Summit Grant, a recognition to mid-career women architects who are advancing toward leadership roles and are making a positive impact within their communities. Gloria was also honored in the Sho-Ping Chin: Legacy Of Leaders Exhibition in the AIA WLS 2023 and A’24 conference in Washington, DC.
She has served as a jury for Design awards including the Architizer A+ Awards, the ALNNJ Design Awards and the Architecture and Design Collection Awards.
Gloria has been a keynote speaker and panelist on several occasions at the AIA National Conference on Architecture 2022 and 2024, NOMA National Conference 2024, Women Leadership Summit Miami 2023, Young Architect conference 2019, YASS 2020, YAWS 2021, NCARB's Architect Licensing Advisor Summit 2019, Women Architects Festival 2022, World Creativity and Innovation Conference 2021, AIA Western Mountain Region Vision 2020, and Realty 2.0 2022, among other events.
In recent years, Gloria has expanded her creative expression beyond architecture into the world of voice acting, poetry, and visual art. Through her creative persona, she writes original poetry and pairs each piece with her own hand-drawn artwork, often created in graphite and charcoal. She then brings these pieces to life through her own voice narration, blending storytelling, illustration, and performance into a unique multidisciplinary form of expression. Her work explores themes of identity, emotion, creativity, and personal growth, reflecting the same passion for storytelling and human connection that has defined her career in architecture and mentorship.
